Synopsis
With Hector dead, Archie (Alastair Mackenzie) has finally moved out from under his father's shadow to become the only living Laird of Glenbogle. His aim is to fulfill Hector's wishes and make Glenbogle great again. Before he can do this, though, he has to pay the death duties that the estate has been burdened with and to achieve this, his masterplan is to breed wolves on the estate both as a tourist attraction and with a view to reintroducing them to the Highlands. In addition to Archie's financial problems, his fiancee, Lexie (Dawn Steele), is less than impressed with the appointment of a new housekeeper and the path to their proposed wedding day is a rocky one. Meanwhile, Golly (Sandy Morton), his faithful ghillie, is mutinous about Archie's plans to modernise the estate and neighbouring laird Kilwillie (Oscar winner Julian Fellowes) is setting his cap at the newly-widowed Molly (Susan Hampshire). And all the while, the deadline for paying the death duties draws nearer...
